Quadrupedal robots are also able to change directions rapidly since their legs allow them to move in any direction without turning, whereas other robots must rotate their lower bodies to the new direction. Quadrupedal robots do not suffer from landing lag when they fall from a high place whereas other bots are seen pausing as they absorb the shock. Like its quadrupedal counterparts, the Raijin has special maneuvering characteristics. The Raijin is great in this role, as it will generally only take damage from one side of the field at any given time (from other snipers) provided it picks off flanking enemies first. The only thing commanders need to be weary of while doing this is to make sure the Raijin only engages in one side at a time as this will allow the Raijin to soak up as much damage as possible with its physical shields before it gets destroyed, which means no health will be wasted.įor sniping, the Raijin should engage Bastion Mode in an area with as much field coverage as possible, which is to allow the Raijin to pick off close/mid-range enemies before they get within their weapons' range. The player simply needs to move the Raijin to the center of a beacon and engage Bastion Mode. The Raijin's ability to defend beacons is self-explanatory. This means that the commander must be able to see as much of the battlefield as possible, as doing so will allow the Raijin to terminate or damage targets from afar, where they probably will not even have realised the Raijin can see them, which is important as Raijin cannot move while accessing its damage boost and therefore needs to endure the entire ability animation twice in order to move and then regain the damage boost. When providing area defense, commanders must place the Raijin in a strategic location before engaging Bastion Mode. Its impressive stats allow it to be purposed for certain roles, including area defense, beacon defending, sniping and frontline brawling. The Raijin is an exceptionally durable tank robot that specialises in certain scenarios. The shields protect Raijin from kinetic, energy and sonic weaponry incoming from the direction the Raijin is facing in, but do nothing against explosive and special weaponry, even if the Raijin is facing in the direction the fire is coming in from. If enough damage is dealt to the physical shields they will eventually break, albeit the separate health pools usually cause one to break before the other. However, while Bastion Mode is active, the Raijin loses the ability to move its legs (it can still move its torso as normal). When activated the Raijin activates its two physical shields while elevating its torso and gaining a 40% damage increase effect. The Raijin's ability is called Bastion Mode. The Raijin is a quadrupedal heavy robot with 2 heavy hardpoints.
